Nucleic Acid Isolation

High-quality nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) are a crucial prerequisite for most of the common downstream technologies like NGS or microarray analyses. Nucleic acids can be exctracted from different sources, like whole blood (fresh or frozen), buffy coat or PBMCs, saliva, tissue, cell pellets manually, or in larger sample batches in an automated manner via Qiasymphony SP. The CCG provides support for research groups from the University of Cologne and the University Hospital of Cologne, as well as external projects from other research institutions on the basis of a scientific collaboration.

Qiasymphony SP system from Qiagen is a powerful instrument for the preparation of DNA from blood, PBMCs or saliva. Specific protocols for other sample types can be developed in cooperation with Qiagen´s application specialists.
