Dr. Susanne Motameny

Susanne Motameny has studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany. She then moved to the University of Cologne, where she received her PhD in Applied Mathematics. In 2008, she joined the Cologne Center for Genomics (CCG) as a research scientist. Since 2019, she has been head of the NGS Bioinformatics at the CCG and is also a staff member of the West German Genome Center (WGGC).
Susanne Motameny coordinates the development and operation of NGS data analysis pipelines for the CCG and WGGC. Her focus is on DNA sequencing data analysis, especially human exomes and whole genomes as well as the automation of analysis workflows and data management. In close cooperation with the IT Center University of Cologne, she also drives the local IT infrastructure development for analysis of NGS data.

Since 2020: Co-Spokesperson of the German Human Genome-Phenome Archive (GHGA) and leader of the Data Hubs Operations and Data Stewardship Workstream
