Dr. Holger Thiele
Holger Thiele studied human medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin and wrote his doctoral thesis on the transcriptional regulation of the TPT1 gene. He has been a research associate at the CCG since the centre was founded and has contributed to its successful establishment as platform manager.
One focus of his work is the development of databases, software applications and LIMS systems that help to organise internal workflows efficiently. With the conception and development of Varbank, he developed a highly regarded tool for the simple exploration of genetic variants as the cause of rare diseases, which is also the focus of his research interests.
