November 01, 2020 - Please note that Illumina introduced a new sequencing chemistry (v1.5) mainly affecting the costs for the largest flowcells of the NovaSeq6000 sequencer. As a result, prices will decrease mostly for large data sets like human genomes, to a moderate extend for medium sized data sets like exomes and transcriptomes, and stay the same for small data sets like ChIPseq, miRNA or 3´mRNA as well as other approaches like ONT or MiSeq experiments. The new prices will be charged for all samples submitted after November 1st. Please contact us to learn about the effect on your individual projects.

April 27, 2020 - While still following strict measures taken in regard of Covid-19, we will re-open our NGS services to support your research on May 04, 2020. Please note that all sample and sheet - handover will be done in a contact-free way in the entrance, ground floor at the CCG, where we provide boxes to place the samples. The entrance can be entered by simply pushing the green button in front of the building. Please keep to the time frame 9am -1pm and send us the sample sheet via EMail  ( at least the day before, so we can clarify any open points. We thank you for your understanding.

Next Generation Sequencing

Next generation sequencing technologies are currently revolutionizing the field of genomic research. They enable researchers to decode genomic sequences at an unprecedented depth and level of detail.

Keeping up to date with modern sequencing technologies, the CCG operates several next generation sequencers and maintains a fully equipped lab and staff able to perform a variety of next generation sequencing experiments – from sample preparation to data analysis. To streamline data analysis, the CCG leverages the performance of the high-performance computing systems of the Regional Computing Center Cologne (RRZK).
