Sanger sequencing is the basic technology for DNA sequencing since 1975 and is frequently used by researchers and clinicians on the campus.
The latest machine generation 3730 is provided by Applied Biosystems - two of them being available at the CCG. The device uses capillary electrophoresis of fluorescent-labelled DNA-fragments and is also suitable for microsatallite analysis.
