Mohammad Reza Toliat has studied Biochemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin. Afterwards he worked on his PhD thesis on molecular genetic characterization of endocrine tumors of the gastroenteropancreatic system at the Max-Planck-Institute for Molecular Genetics, Berlin and Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology, at the Campus Charité and the Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Berlin. After receiving PhD in 2000, he continued his scientific career as postdoctoral research by supervision of genotyping projects in Gene Mapping Center, Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin. Since 2004 he has been managing the laboratory operations of the high-throughput genotyping platform and the Sanger sequencing service at Cologne Center for Genomics (CCG) of the University of Cologne.
Mohammad Reza Toliat works on testing and establishment of several genotyping technologies, mainly array-based genotyping and PCR-based genotyping assays for the CCG genotyping platform and supervises processing of research genotyping projects of collaboration partners.
